Discover the Benefits of Metal Packaging

Envases offers versatile metal packaging for diverse industrial and food segments. The benefits of metal packaging, such as our durable cans and containers, ensure optimal product integrity, protecting contents with reliable and recyclable solutions.

Our commitment to both product quality and environmental responsibility underscores our belief in metal as a superior packaging choice.

Food packaging: preserving quality

When it comes to preserved products, sealed metal packaging guarantees the best product quality and long-term circularity. Using metal for food products like luncheon meat and fish offers a whole range of benefits:

An impenetrable barrier: Metal protects food from contaminants with a barrier against oxygen, odors, light, and bacteria. This ensures the taste, smell, and appearance of the product are effectively preserved.

Extended Shelf Life: The airtight nature of metal packaging guarantees an extended shelf life for perishable foods. Without exposure to oxygen and light, decomposition cannot take place.

Health Protection: In addition to its natural barrier properties, Envases packaging uses a double seaming process to create an airtight seal. This prevents bacteria from entering the can after sterilization, protecting consumer health.

The most important property of food packaging is imperviousness. This depends on two aspects; the first is the barrier properties of the material, the second is the imperviousness of the closure.

Industrial packaging: built to protect

Using metal packaging (tinplate) for Industrial goods has a whole range of benefits:

Mechanically resilient: shock resistant, unbreakable, pressure-resistant, axially stable = stackable.

Thermal resilient: no “cold break”, no “softening” with heat, heat resistant, hot filling possible, noncombustible = minimized fire hazard.

UV stable: no ageing by light, no embrittlement, no yellowing, no “expiration date”.

Impermeable for: Light, gases, liquids/solvents = no permeation and migration.

Metal recycles forever

As businesses everywhere look to reduce their environmental impact, choosing packaging materials that minimise waste and conserve resources over time is vital.

When metal cans are recycled to produce new products, the need for virgin raw materials is reduced.

Metal is the perfect material in a circular economy:

  • Steel packaging: 82% recycled in 2025 (Steel for Packaging Europe, 2025) which exceeds the EU 2025 recycling rate target with the new calculation method.
  • Aluminium Beverage Cans: 76% recycled in 2021 (MPE & EA, 2024) for an overall recycling rate in the EU27, UK, and EFTA.

The benefits of metal packaging

We leverage metal’s unique benefits to advance a circular economy. We are deeply committed to waste reduction, with a core focus on minimizing material use through product downgauging.
