SBTi approves Envases’ emission reduction targets

Envases announces the approval of its short-term emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a global organization that drives corporate climate action aligned with the latest climate science. This validation confirms that the company’s decarbonization strategy is aligned with the pathway required to limit global warming to
1.5°C. The SBTi assessed the targets submitted by Envases and determined that they meet the criteria established in its methodology for short-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions.

The approval of these targets applies to Envases’ operations across the Americas, including Canada, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Uruguay, and Brazil. Please note that joint ventures are excluded from this scope.

SBTi-approved targets

  • Envases commits to reducing absolute GHG emissions from scopes 1 and 2 by 42.0% by the year 2030, using 2023 as the base year.
  • Envases also commits to reducing absolute emissions from scope 3 by 25.0% within the same period.

These commitments cover emissions generated directly by our operations (Scopes 1 and 2), as well as those associated with our value chain (Scope 3), reflecting a comprehensive and responsible approach to sustainability.

A decisive step in our sustainability strategy

SBTi’s approval provides guidance for the implementation of concrete actions that contribute to a more efficient, competitive, and environmentally responsible business model.

This milestone is part of Envases’ global strategy to promote packaging solutions that reduce climate impact and generate value for customers, consumers, and communities.

At Envases, we will continue to drive projects, clean technologies, and strategic partnerships that enable us to achieve these targets by 2030.

The validation of our targets by SBTi positions us as leaders in the industry and reinforces our commitment to advancing robust, well-designed strategies that deliver real impact. Decarbonization is a collective effort: we improve our performance and mobilize our entire value chain, because only through collaboration can we achieve an effective transition to a low-carbon future.
