Successful installation of a new Combi line at Envases Liverpool

At Envases Liverpool, we’ve successfully replaced our old drum line with a new dual Combi line. Thanks to this Envases Liverpool Combi line installation, we can now produce both tight-head drums and pails. This change significantly expands our product range to meet new market demands. The new line doubles our output and operates with 50% fewer operators. This leads to greater efficiency, which directly benefits our customers, aligning with our goal of offering top-tier packaging solutions.

Envases Liverpool, supported by the Western cluster, took the lead in project management for installing the new Combi line. This Envases Liverpool Combi line installation was to allow Liverpool to have greater control over project costs. It was very successful. Consequently, the introduction of a Group steering committee made it easier to deal with OEMs, showcasing our improved packaging solutions approach.

The results of this project demonstrate our commitment to efficiency and value:

• We completed the project 25% under the Capex budget.
• We doubled our output from 20 cpm to 40 cpm, with an improved efficiency from 50% to 60%.
• We cut material usage by 3.3% by introducing a more efficient blank size.
• The new line provides an opportunity to grow revenue by an estimated £680k through new pails production.

This project was a shared learning experience with our sister site in Halsteren. The site had a similar machine installed 18 months prior, allowing us to build on their experience. As a result, we also relied on key external support contractors.
