Human & workplace initiatives
The well-being, health, and safety of all of our employees are a part of our objectives. The employees are our most important resource. That is why employee welfare and safety are important areas.
Healthy life initiatives, employment based on qualifications, education offers across different work functions, as well as treating each other with dignity and respect, are part of our working culture.
Workplace safety is built into every process, procedure and system of the company as well as the attitudes and values of every employee. In our safety culture we provide support to each employee to exceed basic requirements in order to achieve safety excellence.
Safety and health are instilled in management and every employee. This leads to safer decisions, correction of unsafe behaviors, and reduction of incidents, injuries and near accidents.

Our employees are our most important asset, which is why we do everything we can to ensure they’re healthy and happy.
Every year, we offer staff and their families in Mexico a free voluntary health check, covering any area of personal wellbeing from simple blood pressure and general fitness assessments with a GP, to more specific things like dental checks or breast cancer screenings. In addition, we make sure everyone has access to flu and tetanus vaccines.
These preventative measures help ensure our employees and their families stay healthy, and also form part of our wider Human & Workplace Initiatives. We also hope it means they live a longer and happier life with us.
When it comes to employee safety, factories in Denmark is among the very best there is.
Situated in Denmark where factories are subject to some of the world’s strictest safety regulations, we have made major investments in high safety standards.
This entails not only the investment in several noise encapsulations to reduce the employees’ exposure to noise to a maximum of 85 dB, and having light curtains safety stop installed in several machines to avoid e.g. hand injuries. It also includes conducting safety campaigns on a regular basis and getting the employees involved in building a culture of safety.
Their expertise, know-how and useful suggestions – help us create one of the safest work environments in the industry.

At the core of our Human & Workplace Initiatives is a commitment to provide the safest possible environment for employees.
Not only do we maintain our focus on safety levels and ensure occupational accidents are kept to a minimum, we also have structures in place to consistently benchmark and improve our workplace wherever possible.
In order to ensure and maintain the highest level of workplace safety at all facilities, we continuously benchmark our factories in Mexico, providing additional staff training where necessary as well as running safety campaigns sending out communicating safety regulations on an ongoing basis.
By constantly monitoring and correcting our approach to health and safety, we can ensure the bar is always raised on behalf of our staff.
We feel it’s essential to give staff the tools and skills to perform confidently, safely and to the best of their ability – which is why we offer specialist training where necessary at our plants in Mexico.
In areas such as printing and material cutting, for example, employees can expect full process training through our internal Envases school. Staff can apply to receive this training themselves, or may be selected upon their own individual merit.
By providing access to comprehensive education through our Human & Workplace Initiatives, we’re able to ensure the highest standards are maintained, while providing opportunities for staff to expand their skills and obtain new professional competencies.

Ensuring our employees are able to meet the needs of the business, while having the ability to grow as individuals, is an important part of our training and education process.
For those who don’t have a high school education, we provide in-‐house learning at our plants in Mexico by high school teachers to achieve this, three days a week as an extension of daily working hours. This voluntary training allows staff to develop at their own pace, while attaining an educational level that may not have otherwise been available to them.
Through our Human Workplace Initiatives, this means employees feel supported both personally and professionally, while having the ability to truly grow with us as a business.
Over the last years, Envases has promoted and supported ‘Carrera Atlética’ – a fundraising running event, that benefits the organizations “Me late ayudar” and “Brazos para Ayudar” in Mexico.
These organizations are working for better health for children and families in the local community.
We encourage all Envases employees and their families to participate in the event and in so doing contribute actively to their own health as well as the general health of the community.
