Sustainable packaging
We have a continuous focus on improving the sustainability of our products.
This involves material sourcing, optimized packaging design with reduced material consumption, improvement of the recycling rate for waste material and packaging disposal as well as education of our customers and the end user in material sustainability.

As our contribution to sustainable and cost efficient packaging, we are constantly trying to decrease the weight of our cans and ends. One of our success stories is the CDL-E aluminium beverage end, which is lighter than the original CDL standard end.
The essential advantage of CDL-E can ends is the savings in feedstock. The circular blank in the round aluminium disk is smaller. In addition, the metal is thinner, requiring about 10% less material.
The lighter end retains the current performance characteristics in terms of pressure resistance, opening force and shelf life and in addition it offers, the same filling speed for the fillers.
The introduction of the lightweight end is an example of Envases’ commitment to drive operational excellence that not only offers cost efficient product solutions but also supports our customers' and our own commitment to sustainability.
As consumers are becoming increasingly concerned about the impact of packaging on the environment, we support the adoption of a Recycling Mark. The logo - for use on pack do symbolize the sustainability benefits of metal.
The logo is part of a behavior change campaign used to help consumers better understand their role in keeping metal in a ‘forever loop’ by recycling their empty packaging and in this way it can educate and encourage the consumer to recycle.

An optimal packaging solution does not only comply with your demand for efficient product protection but also complies with focus on sustainability goals.
Even the smallest design alterations can have a huge impact on the environmental footprint as well as the total cost of ownership due to a more effective use of resources and lighter transport loads.
For our PET carbonated soft drink segment we have a bottle solutions that reduces the bottle weight by about 13%.
The optimized bottle is made with a new base that makes it possible to save material, and at the same time it does not compromise on the performance requirements.
