Lightweight CDL-E end for beverage cans

As our contribution to sustainable and cost efficient packaging, we are constantly trying to decrease the weight of our cans and ends. One of our success stories is the CDL-E aluminium beverage end, which is lighter than the original CDL standard end.

The essential advantage of CDL-E can ends is the savings in feedstock. The circular blank in the round aluminum disk is smaller. In addition, the metal is thinner, requiring about 10% less material.

The lighter end retains the current performance characteristics in terms of pressure resistance, opening force and shelf life and in addition it offers, the same filling speed for the fillers.
