Worlds Largest Recycling Plant
Envases takes part in the global climate responsibility by establishing the APAN PET Recycling plant, the worlds largest PET recycling plant in bottle-to-bottle capacity – inaugurated on March 29th this year.
The PET recycling plant will reduce 78 thousand tons of garbage per year and will produce 8 thousand tons of recycled PET per hour for food grade containers and preforms.
Since 2019, in conjunction with the Ellen Mac Arthur Foundation and the United Nations Environment Program, Envases Mexico PET operation shares the goal, at least 25% of recycled material is used in all our production.
Currently, the consumption of recycled PET represents 16,9% of the total weight of transformed PET, in Envases Mexico operations.
