We offer you the optimal storage and handling of your food products by ensuring the right match between the lacquer system and the product.
Lacquers have multiple functions in relation to your product. First of all a quality lacquer should always cover all surfaces to prevent discolourations on the product (staining).
When selecting best performance lacquers we take into consideration the specific product to be stored, type of packaging and compliance with food regulations and any other specific customer requirements, such as easy release of products from the packaging, as requested for paté and cod roe which need to be taken out in one piece.
The services of our laboratory:
- Optimal packaging for a given end-use
- Correct match between the lacquer system and the product
- Planning, evaluation and reporting of packing tests
- Technical contact and consultancy
- Consultancy regarding legislation

We carry out UN ratings of all of our products. This is done at our in-house test facilities that replicate a UN-test before an external party provides the certification.

Our customers’ product quality often depends on correct tightness of the packaging – a factor which places demands on both the sealing mechanism, technical equipment and handling.
Our Technical Service Department has specialised in ensuring that product quality remains high throughout the production process and can assists you from development to the actual production start
In the development phase, we carry out technical presentation and guidance regarding the demand for production equipment and investments.
When ready to implement – we can assist with equipment adjustment and training of seaming technicians.
During production, we offer maintenance and general production assistance for line optimization.
Choosing the right equipment for packaging is not enough – the equipment also needs to be handled correctly.
We therefore offer to train technicians and operators in how to run and maintain seaming machines. The courses are held at our so-called Seaming School. On the first day we study the theory while on the second day we teach the employees how to handle all aspects of the seaming process so that production can get started effectively and safely.
The planned course programmes are held at our location in Odense, Denmark. Planned courses in 2021: 17-18 february, 26-27 may, 15-16 september and 17-18 november.
However, the training can also be provided as a two-day course held at your production facilities. The courses are held in Danish, English or German with the option of adapting the written material to other languages.

Metal packaging offers unique conserving properties – but the quality stands or falls based on the seaming. That’s something that the team at Orkla in Kungshamn, Sweden, is well aware of, which is why they have been using Envases’ Seaming School. “We wanted to raise the skills of our staff who are responsible for inspecting the seams (CCP) on the line, but we also chose to allow operators and managers to participate,” explains Quality and Environment Manager Agneta Stenberg. “All staff need to have the same level of skills so that they can communicate with one another. That way, we can maintain consistent quality.”
The Seaming School was recommended to Agneta Stenberg by a number of employees who had previously attended one of Envases’ courses. “We expected to have a good discussion about procedures and for the training to cover practical examples and exercises to ensure that participants retained their new knowledge – and we were by no means disappointed,” she says. And continues “We’d be perfectly happy to send other staff on the course,” concludes Agneta.

Technical Manager at Larsen Seafood Albert Andersen says, “We have also used the seaming training.
Selected employees have, of course, been on ordinary seaming courses, but three or four years ago we sent all our employees on a basic seaming course on our factory site – as a quality assurance measure and to show what sort of product we make our living from.”
